What We Believe

TOTAL DEPRAVITY is a result of Adam's disobedience in eating of the
forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden. As a result of this original sin, man fell in
his every faculty, thereby becoming dead in trespasses and sin and incapable
of recovering himself from this fallen state by his own free will or ability.
(Genesis 6:5, Genesis 8:21, Job 25:4-6, Ecclesiastes 7:20, Isaiah 64:6,
Matthew 19:17, Romans 3:10-18, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:12-21, Ephesians
2:1-5, Colossians 2:13).

UNCONDITIONAL ELECTION is the Bible teaching that the election of God's
people for eternal salvation was not dependent upon any work on the part of
the sinner. Before the world began, God elected or chose his people in Christ
and predestined them to be heirs of eternal glory (Romans 8:28-34, Romans
9:11, I Peter 1:2-4, Ephesians 1:3-6).

LIMITED ATONEMENT, also known as PARTICULAR REDEMPTION, is the
Bible teaching that Christ died for the elect only and not for all men in general.
All for whom he died were indeed redeemed, by virtue of which they will without
fail live with him in heaven (John 6:37-40, John 17:2, Matthew 1:21, Matthew
20:28, Romans 8:29-30, Romans 9:13,  Hebrews 9:28, Hebrews 10:14).  The
words "Limited" or "Particular" may lead some to think that we believe only a
small number of people are among the elect.  One only has to read Revelation
5:9 and 7:9 to see that this can't possibly be.
God has a people out "of all
nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues"
and it is, at a minimum,
"a great multitude, which no man could number."

IRRESISTIBLE GRACE, also known as EFFECTUAL CALLING, simply means
that all for whom Christ died will be born of the Spirit sometime between
conception and death. Thus, eternal life is imparted to the dead alien sinner by
the sovereign will of God alone, without the aid of men. The call which brings a
sinner from a state of death in sin to a state of life in Christ Jesus is irresistible
on the part of the sinner (John 3:8, John 5:21, John 5:25, Romans 8:30,
Ephesians 2:1).

PRESERVATION OF THE SAINTS, also known as DIVINE PRESERVATION,
means that the saints, who are the foreknown, the predestined, the called, and
the justified, will also be glorified in eternal heaven after the toils and cares of
this life are over (John 17:24, Romans 8:28-30, Romans 8:38-39, John
10:27-29).
